7 Quick Tips for Slow Hair Growth.

Your hair is growing, but are you retaining that length? If not, here are a few things to try:

#1. Wet or wash your hair more often. Water's your best hair growth tool. Wetting it won't make it dry (quite the opposite), but a harsh cleanser will...

#2. Check your shampoo label for the following two ingredients: "sodium laureth sulfate" or "ammonium laureth sulfate". If you see either one and your hair is dry/breaking/not retaining length, then stop using that shampoo. It's too drying. Egg Tresemme products are good ;) shampoo & conditioner. I'm currently using the shampoo :)

#3. Use a gentle cleanser. Wash w/ sulfate-free shampoo, co-wash with a conditioner alone or use a natural clay product (rhassoul, bentonite) that won't strip your hair of sebum, the natural protective oil it produces.

#4. Back off the flat-irons & other direct heat & Dye: Roller sets, braids, sew-ins or anything that doesn't require direct heat is a sure helper when your hair is breaking off. Dye as we all know is a chemical which is bad for your hair.;)

#5.Use wide -tooth combs . Stay away from tiny or small tooth combs :) as they tend to break hair more.

#6. Keep away from cotton. That includes sheets, shirts and all else that rubs your hair at night or during the day. Sleep in a satin cap and keep your ends off your shoulders. The friction is damaging, drying, breaking and beating up your hair. Give it a rest. After all, buns are a very sexy look. Rock 'em.

#7. Stop clipping your ends so much. If you have to clip your ends every 8 weeks, you're doing way too much damage. You can get away with clipping your ends very seldom if you're loving on your hair. If you find yourself clipping as much as you grow, you can either change your DNA to grow hair faster or change your hair care regimen to do less damage. It's your choice.
